A Field Sales Engineer opportunity to manage the North of England.

Our client is the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of marking and engraving technologies, (Laser, Dot Peen & Scribing). Their core markets are Automotive (tier 1 & 2 suppliers and manufacturers), system integrators, engineering, and manufacturing companies.

We are working with our client to recruit a Field Sales Engineer to manage the North of England. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing existing business, following up on new business, client installations, client demonstrations, ad-hoc service, and repair calls.

This role would suit someone who has previously been an Applications/Installations or Production Engineer. Credibility within a manufacturing environment will be an advantage. This role is not a ‘hard sell’ and will require a consultative approach.

 

Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer

  • Plan and execute the sales strategy
  • Appointment Making
  • Sample Marking
  • Client Meetings and Presentations
  • Equipment Demonstrations
  • Pre- and post-sales customer support
  • Customer Training
  • Installations
  • System integrators
  • Representation at Trade Fairs
  • Regular reporting to management
  • Act as an ambassador of the business always

 

Essential Skills and Experience of the Sales Engineer

  • Relevant experience in an industrial sales environment
  • Proven track record selling capital equipment to industrial companies
  • A confident negotiator with strong relationship management and networking skills
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • High levels of motivation and self-discipline
  • Good level of administrative (back-office skills)
  • The ability to pick up and work with new software packages quickly
  • Sound technical knowledge and relevant qualifications or training
