A field sales engineer (area manager) opportunity to manage the North of the UK.

Our client is the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of marking and engraving technologies (Lasers, Dot Peen & Scribing).

The core customer base for this role will be retail establishments, sign makers, fashion retailers, luxury goods, and retailers looking to provide creative design, personalisation/identification services (medals, trophies, clothing, luxury goods, bespoke products, etc.)

We are working with our client to recruit a Field Sales Engineer to manage the North of the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing existing business, following up on new business, client installations, client demonstrations and ad-hoc service, and repair calls throughout a designated Northern territory from the Midlands up to Newcastle.

This role would suit someone who has previously been sold into a retail customer base. This role is not a ‘hard sell’ and will require a consultative approach.

  • Client Meetings and Presentations
  • Equipment Demonstrations
  • Pre- and post-sales customer support
  • Customer Training
  • Installations
  • System integrations
  • Representation at Trade Fairs
  • Regular reporting to management

 

Essential Skills and Experience of the Sales Engineer.

  • Relevant experience in a technical sales environment
  • Proven track record selling capital equipment to retail focussed companies
  • A confident negotiator with strong relationship management and networking skills
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • High levels of motivation and self-discipline
  • Good level of administrative (back-office skills)
  • The ability to pick up and work with new software packages quickly
  • Sound technical knowledge and relevant qualifications or training
