Job Description

We’re looking for a buyer to join our client’s purchasing team in Swindon. As part of the Commercial department, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting stock control and administration duties
  • Supporting tenders, product enquiries and ad-hoc project work.
  • Reporting and statistical analysis/end-to-end thinking
  • Sourcing and negotiating with existing suppliers

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be outgoing, and positive with excellent communication skills, particularly on the telephone
  • Have a can-do attitude and be looking to progress within the role
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, in order to be a flexible and supportive member of the team
  • Have good time management, prioritisation, negotiation & organisational skills
  • Have an ethical approach to business and relationship building
  • Be able to understand and effectively follow company processes and procedure
  • Have a strong desire to improve the supplier/ customer experience
  • Demonstrate strong ability with Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis on Excel
  • Show willingness for continuous improvement within the role and to go the extra mile.

Minimum requirements:

  • Buying experience
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, good written and verbal communication skills
